Opportunities Available

Current annual demand for new employment in IT in Sri Lanka (both public and private sector) is around 10,000. Of which about 2500 is for Diplomas holders in IT, another 2500 Higher Diplomas holders in IT and another 5000 Degree holders in IT. Time to time, job opportunities will be notified to students via the BIT Virtual Learning Environment. IT workforce has increased rapidly since the late 1990s and is expected to grow further. IT Workforce can be classified as IT companies and non-IT companies, Government and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sectors.
